Let’s Learn, Laugh, and Shed Some Tears Together

As fathers, we want to help prepare our kids—not only to enter the professional world, but to thrive in each stage of their lives. Guests of this show include teachers, coaches, professional athletes, consultants, business owners, authors—and stay-at-home dads.

They share openly about failure, success, laughter and even sadness so that we can all learn from each other—as we strive to become the best leaders and Quarterbacks of our households!

Honestly, this started from my own selfish reasons…

Why did I create This podcast?

Let's face it! We all have gaps—I know that I sure do!

Since becoming a father to my two kids (both now teenagers), I’d often ask myself: How can I be a better dad? How can I serve my kids in the best way possible? And, how do other dads do this?

I also started to get more curious about the older generations of dads. How is fatherhood the same or different across different generations? What can other dads tell me about the relationships they had with their dads—how did those experiences impact them?

As you can see, I LOVE to ask questions! And I love to learn by listening to what others have to say. In each conversation I have with a dad on this show, we can all discover something new.

it can be difficult, uncomfortable, and risky sometimes…

But it’s worth it

  • We’ve shared a lot of laughs on this show, and equally—some heavy conversations that would oftentimes bring up difficult feelings.

This podcast series allows dads to feel seen and heard. It’s a place to share actionable ways to parent well—from the father’s perspective. Finally, it’s a chance to spread hope and encouragement to everyone tasked with the responsibility and blessing of being a dad.

    To my interview guests:

Thank you for your courage, honesty, and desire to support other dads through sharing your stories!

A Blank Piece of Paper and My Listening Ears

How has my interview process evolved?

  • In the beginning of my podcast journey, I started with a script that I would send to my guest.

Now, I use a blank piece of paper. It forces me to listen actively and go deeper when my guests share important information.

What has impacted me the most through all of these conversations is the reminder to take notes and take in what each dad is saying.  By writing information down, it reinforces the key takeaways from each episode.
